that is exactly what i gotta do to. except that it is almost constantly fatiguing my jawbone that i is a little discomforting to wear and after i take it off my
jawbone feels numb and i have to rub it to make it normal again. it almost feels as if the pads are positioned diagonally so that the lower ends of the earpads are touching my jawbone the most.

Retract the belts a notch or two then. Retracting makes it so that the upper part of the cushions tilt more inward than the lower part.

That and do the stretching of the headband more drastically. It will increase the comfort level one way or the other.

Yeah I put some rolls of electrical tape to prop up the pleather part of the cushions because 1) it tightens the bass significantly and 2) it works well with the "remove foam film of M50 pads" mod because by propping the padding up the rim of one's ears no longer touch the driver grill.

How exactly do u put the electrical tape inside the pads?

Did you overstretch? Lol. That's why I said a few seconds at a time, stretching just a little further more and more. I've done it to 3 M50s, and all three were perfect in clamp.

Thank OP. This worked for me, and for anyone unsure about this, it appears to be the official method from AT for ATH-PRO700MK2 phones http://eu.audio-technica.com/en/support/questions/question.asp?id=219
