I have so far been using my Headroom Micro Amp/DAC stack with Shure E500 and always noticed audible hiss on quiet parts and between the tracks.
But now my Proline 750's are burned in and plugged them in and immediately noticed no hiss. I am still using lowest gain setting like with E500's, just bit more volume. Switch to medium gain and max volume, still none. With high gain and max volume sure there is a little bit noise, but the difference is puzzling.
Does anyone have any idea why and what could be causing it? I don't plan to use E500's with this combo anymore, I am just curious.
