I tried a search, but couldn't find an answer. If there are threads on the topic, please point me in the correct direction.
How loud are heating filaments "supposed" to be on power tubes, like the 6AS7 series? I have a beautiful tube that sounds beautiful through my cans, but when I take my cans off my ears, I can hear the tube in action. The tube, and what I'm guessing is the heating element, is quite loud and sounds a little like a gas stove burner.
Normal? My other tubes, although other brands, sound dead silent when fired up.
