. . . and found a Meier Porta Corda with Senn HD580 and a Panasonic SL-CT-580 (all are "cooking" in the other room with the XLO test CD 15 min burn track per Jan's recs). XLO test CD is HDCD encoded, BTW, which may be why the demo tracks sound so good. I am relaxing in the other room with the spaniels and the main system and some old vinyl recently cleaned on the real "stocking stuffer"; a VPI 16.5. I must be a lucky boy, because I don't remember being that good . . .
