New July Stereophile arrived and on page 75 Johnathan Scull reviews Headroom Bolckhead. Here is reviewers system:
-BAT VK-D55se CDP
-AQ Amazon ICs
-Headroom Blockhead stepped attenuator
-CLou Red XLR (balanced) headphone cable ($350)
-Senn 600 Headphone

Also PS Audio P300 condtioner and Shunyata Python AC cords!

Needless to say this is rave review, said this set-up was "real close" to much more expensive ($13,000) Senn Orpheus System (from his memory)

The usual naysayers at Audiogon will cry foul because Headroom has full page add for Blockhead on page 110 same issue.

Well, at least he got it right when he said the Blockhead/HD600 combo is "close" to the O.

From comparisons at the Orlando show, although with Cardas instead of Clou, the Big B was slightly SUPERIOR to the Big O

I stopped reading Stereopile a while back, but doesn't Scull basically rave about everything he reviews in every issue? Seems every new component is his new "reference".

Does that make me a "usual naysayer"?

Yeah, no kidding. And in the June issue it indicated Scull had left Stereophile.

Too bad he didn't get to review it with the Cardas balanced cable
