I've been throughly enjoying these little buggers ALOT! Mostly for the great BASS & music intimacy (Isolation).
I guess I have big ear holes? the stock foamies were almost too small to give me a good seal. I had to push the foam to the tip of the Gray tube, and shove them into my ears to get the best seal.
I performed the Kramer Mod on them, but it made the mids WAY too harsh!! I have stuffed some KSC75 foam in the holes to try and tame the mids/highs. It halped some, but they still can sound way too harsh! Plus the BASS suffered alot from the mod. I think the paper that was in there was also resonating the bass from the driver. The KSC75 foam is just muffling the mids/highs, and not resonating the bass.
But the stock paper thing really hindered the mids/highs too.
SOOO...
I would like the bassy-ness of the stock FX33's, but with nice and clear mids/highs...not too harsh.
BTW - I love the detail and clarity of my SR80's, so maybe IEM sounding SR80's but with the BASS of FX33's.
Maybe I'll get another set of FX33's and slowly poke more holes in the paper instead of removing it completely.
