Hmm, looks interesting. Maybe I should finally try out some soldering, it doesn't look as hard as I thought it would be. Great writeup!

Very nice tutorial. One of the stumbling blocks of 1st time builders is the enclosure. Many people including me have mangled our 1st tin. Maybe you could expand on good casing techniques. For example, using a paper punch instead of a drill to put holes in the tin.

nice tutorial.. maybe i will build one real quick before my soha and alien dac get here, it looks so easy! i never even thought about using those boards like that, even though i've used them to design stuff before, i always just thought i ought to get a made pcb. but can you actually find every part you need at radioshack like the op amps?

what kind of sound sig do cmoys have anyway? maybe i'll spice it up with some metal film resistors?

Yup i could get all the parts from my local radioshack (Singapore) just that the Blurr Brown Op Amp IC i got to order it from digitalkey online.

Next as for the sound signal, i nv do any test on it with any equipment, I simply follow the cmoy schmatic diagram that i could found online and match everything up and then i break down every step onto the tutorial blog. So after all i am not an expert, i hope someone here could give you some suggestion on the upgrade parts.

And lastly, Thanks for visiting the tutorial that i have put up. All the best on your project!

Nice guide. I especially liked the big pictures of the starting parts/tools - that'll help people find stuff locally.

I think there's a big jump from step 16 to 17 like others have commented. One other bit of info is insulating the board from the case - most first timers might not thing of that being an issue, then suddenly all connections on the bottom of that board are connected...
