Just noticed that April Music is now selling the HP100 for $1000.00 at HiFi500.com ...

This is about 400.00 dollars more than it's previous standard new price of $600.00 or so.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Am I mis reading the page somehow?

???

Look Here: www.hifi500.com

Wonder what's up with that....

The price is $995. If it was originally $600, that's way too much of an increase.

Wow, you're right. It was $595 plus shipping when I was shopping amps last October. I had not looked since then, so I am not sure when it changed.

I really like this amp, but I'm not sure it is worth $100 more than a Headamp GS-1. It sounds very good though, so in the same ballpark makes sense. It was probably under-priced before.

I was eyeing this amp a while back too. Makes me wish I would have picked it up six months ago.

Just got an email from April Music ...

They went up on all their stackable 100 series products ... with the HP100 getting the biggest hike as it was "the most underpriced" of the bunch.

Interesting ...

If I end up getting a Raptor this month, someone can pick up my HP100 used and at a premium considering those recent price hikes.

More on that later though ... still deliberating.

That's crazy. I owned it from less than 600 and let go thinking it doesn't deserve the price. Am I nut?

It's a 600 to 1000 dollar amp easy.

Great sounding bit of gear.

That just means you got a hell of a good deal on the one you bought from me.

Hope you're still liking it.

I absolutely love it.

Although, had I my choice, I'd prefer the GS-1 if only because my Havana DAC would stack quite nicely on top of it.

Regarding sound, though ... at the Houston meet, I could tell no real sonic differences between the two. Both spatious and lovely with disgustingly quiet background and very neutral across the board.

So who wants to give me $700 for my HP100?

(that's 250 or so more than I paid you for it, Charles ... )

Yay.

Holy cow! I was just searching around looking at the HP100 thinking that it may be nice to have an all discrete solid state amp for my bedroom setup instead of the DV336se. Since I have a DA100, I thought the HP100 would be nice a nice pairing. This of course was when it cost $600 (I was hoping one would show up used for $450-$500). Now I see that it is $1000!!! That is one heck of a price increase. Dang, I guess I won't be getting one of those.
