We generally have a strictly enforced "no discussion" rule in the FS forums, but I think in this case we can relax our standards a bit. For one, it's hard not to comment favorably about such a beautiful musical instrument and (indeed) finely crafted piece of art. But more importantly, nobody will be jumping in and saying, "I saw one of those last week for sale here for $20 cheaper." In other words, it would be pretty hard for someone to thread crap in this case!

Although, having said that, my heart nearly skipped a beat when I scanned the initial post with my eye moving past the words on to the pictures, and then back up to the words, looking for a price and finding one in the usual spot (at the end of the words)... and seeing, much to my amazement $499. "No way! You've got to be kidding me! I'm all over this one! My mom is going to love me! No, wait a minute, that's just the bench..." Dang it!

Beautiful. When I was a teenager, a neighbor of mine had a Steinway M. She would let me play it for hours. I can honestly say that that piano was my first love. It's ability to emote--it was alive.

I have had the pleasure of playing a Steinway grand piano before. Its absolutely fabulous, so much feedback to your fingers.

Alright, I'll stop before I turn into a drooling mess.

I had the good fortune to play a friends 1888 Steinway Square Grand once and I've never heard it's like before or since.
