It's currently 7:30 AM. I've been up since 3 with some intestinal distress that has since diminished to a comfortable level but I have to work from 9 to 4. Not going isn't really an option because it's orientation. So what do you all recommend for functioning for 7 hours after sleeping for 3?

actually that's not bad at all, my normal is 4-5 hours of sleep and the rest working one of the two jobs (easy type and laid back).

energy drinks or maybe a simple candy bar should give you enough boost for 7hours. maybe even some fruit can do it on that time limit. coffee may make you a bit sleepy so if you do then make it towards the end. if you can bring mints or something with you get some sugar type one and suck on them hardcore non stop till they melt in you mouth and after that pop another one in your mouth, that should keep you in a ready to go state and up for the time!

You eat too much, you get sleepy - only eat a little, like an energy bar...

Stay away from sweet stuff - it gives you an initial kick, but follows with a long sag/fade...

Drink lots - makes you go a lot, and will force you to walk and move, even if you are fading...

Keep plenty of light on and around you, if you can...

Some Caffeine helps, but too much, and you will get/feel weird - just take in about 120% of whatever is your usual dose - DON'T Double or more!!!

Biggest thing is to stay hungry - it will naturally keep you alert.

After little-or-no sleep you should at least get a nice pump of adrenaline. I tend to perform better on, for example, 2 hours sleep than I would on 6. On 6 hours sleep I'm just drowsy all day, but on 2 or 0 hours sleep I'm full of adrenaline all day which keeps me awake fine. Eventually you'll crash though

I have found that most of the 'energy' products will give you that rush, followed by a big crash.

Use mother nature to your advantage! Your body wants water and nutrients. Energy drinks really don't give you that.

Pound water all day, and eat fruit, granola, bananas are real good energy.

But, like Billy, 3 hours really isn't that bad for me, so YMMV. I am used to functioning on little sleep.

Seriously, 3 hours one night when you're regularly getting more and slept properly the night before, you'll be fine after you wake up a bit. Everybody had good advice here.

I personally don't drink coffee or energy drinks as they're pretty bad on your body and don't have much problems while not getting enough sleep. Just eat a bit, drink a lot and if possible, take a 15 minute power nap at lunch, it REALLY helps
