STAX SRM-D50

The SRM-D50 with modded SR007A beats the sound quality of even the SR009S with a BHSE, T8000, KGSS, etc. in my opinion. The SRM-D50 drives them well. I'm only selling it because I don't like dealing with headphone cables.

so u did not find that ur 007 needed more power to drive the 007 at all, as I assume the BHSE and carbon are way more powerful

I had no issues at all with the internal DAC, and I really enjoyed this unit when driving it via USB.

Here are some of my photos:

Better than BHSE + SR009 !!? Can you tell us exactly what type of mod have been applied to your SR007 ? I have BHSE and SR007 and SR009... and wonder if D50 can sound close to my BHSE.

Yes, it's Spritzer's BluTack mod. It makes the SR007 sound better than the SR009 in my opinion and to a number of others.

Can you please direct me ( link ) to the description of the Spritzer's BluTack mod ? Can it be applied to my SR007 MK1 version ?

Nice enough amplifier for 009. Excellent connections to PC. Very hot in summer. Would call it reliable device. Were marginal problems in the beginning of use, but they disappeared itself. Probably some small assembly defects (some poor contacts, useless but nice dancing arrow stacked). Highly recommend D50 if you can afford very hot device on your desk.

@PointyFox How is the bass on the SR-007/D50 combo? I think the boomy bass is main issue on the SR-007 when it's underpowered (that's certainly the case with my SRM-212), I'm wondering if the D50 is enough to control the bass. Is it really as good as the LCD-4?

The bass was excellent with the Spritzer bass port mod.
