Hey guys, please share any impressions and updates about this exciting upcoming portable STAX driver!
(I don't feel like searching through all the STAX forums in the future for this info :confounded:, just so it's all in one place).

I took a quick listen over at CanJam LA with the L700s and I have a feeling it doesn't pair well with the Lamda series.
Specs wise it does seem to lack the juice in order to do so effectively as well.
Still worth if you don't have space or simply want the portable option to listen to the glory that is Stax earspeakers.

Has anyone listened to this seriously with SR009 and SR007?

the d10 stands upto the t8000 revealing detail and precision of the 009s. if they only fit a tube in there...

Nice photo!
Did you try with the older SR-009 or the current SR-009S?

Can anyone compare to KSE 1500?
But that is comparing an IEM to a full size headphone. I guess you should specify in what way or part, you want the comparisons.

Stax SRM D10 = the best for home- office mobile solution, Shure KSE 1500 = the best closed portable electrostatic solution.

Nice photo, thanks for the tip.

Great point, I should be more specific about my use cases.

First of all for me it's all about detail. I love electrostats and Chord DACs because the Chord DACs are so precise with their timing, and the Stax are fast enough to take advantage of it.

I listen to KSE 1500s at work (since they're closed), and 009Ss through a Carbon CC at home. I think those two things are optimal for those uses and my preferences.

Recently I've been thinking more about what I should bring with while traveling. When on a plane/etc the 1500 is a pretty clear winner, but I wonder if sitting in a quiet hotel room the D10 w/ 009S would offer more detail. Even if it does the lack of portability might not be worth it. I also have a Focal Utopia which is the only dynamic headphone that comes close to the Stax in terms of detail. I use it at my home office which is separate from my listening chair, and was considering traveling with it, but I think the KSE wins out.

I was considering getting this for my Koss ESP/95x, but wasn't sure where to get a wire converter that isn't +$150.
