Hello head-fi people,
I just snagged Stax Sigma (Pro?) + SRA-12S AMP for $220 imported from Japan yahoo auctions. Should be getting it in a few days..
Can anyone tell me if I can safely plug this into the outlet in the USA?
Does it need re-wiring?

I was not sure so I purchased a transformer on amazon for $40.

There is a problem with the amp, it distorts sound and everything sounds like farts above 12 o'clock.
:frowning2: This is very sad, not sure whether to sell it or bring it to my local repair shop.

The Lambda Pros are in excellent condition and sound very good with SRD-7 and amplifier.
My speaker amplifier is crap (Technical Pro 2000WATTS) and it revs up fans like there is no tomorrow.

Note, I know that The Lambda Pros are 500V and it is not optimal in SRD-7 or SRA-12s.
I tested the AMP with Mark 3s.
