I would say it is definitely the best headphone Stax made after 2000 (not sure of the omega as I've not listened to it) But there are still something not enough for not for everyone's taste.

But in this thread he use 3ES Elite, maybe this is why he feel the bass is not a issue.

I wonder to what extend this headphone could challenge this old myth in the audiophile community that a well treated room with speakers is always better than headphones. It seems from most reviews that the soundstage and presentation aims to dispel it, intentionally or not.

Point taken. I am still hoping they come as close as possible. For me a good speaker rig isn't really an option in my living situation if I want to avoid the neighbors at my door every night

Yep, you can't defy physics. Headphones are great for what they are, and are the next best thing if speakers are impossible/impractical. But having the drivers an inch or so from your ears means true soundstaging and imaging is unachievable. Having performers surround your head versus them seemingly being in the room with you are two completely different experiences. The ever-increasing price of flagship headphones makes even less sense when you consider that a 2-channel system can be put together for similar cost.

Not absolutely true. I've got a crappy listening room with no acoustic treatment, and my speakers still kill any headphone setup, particularly for bass tactility, imaging, and just presence of the music.

This is exactly the sound signature I’m looking for. Sounds like he wanted another 007. The most valid of his complaints are price. Price is crazy high.

It’s Relaxed and can go loud and not be fatiguing I’m excited to hear these are a few of its traits

The 007 has its place in my current lineup along with susvara and 1266 tc. I am very interested in CRBN but not many are out and I’m not a big Audeze fan overall. But that could change with the CRBN

I'll definitely be doing this, but I'm not anticipating receiving the x9000 until late November or after at this point.
