stax sr lambda and sr 404 sig srm3 advice

hi to all im rob!, love all things stax!!, i just got a pair of lovely sr lambdas in amazing nick!!, but having only a srm3 driver amp ive tried replacing one of the 5 pin plugs for a six pin n-bias one now on the ps board with the big caps diodes film caps etc it says p for pro and n for itake it normal, but voltmeter reads 0 volts on n bias solder pad?? !!and 350 on the pro wire??? i tried running it from pro tap in series with a 100k resister thats down to 220 ish volts but i get bad parasitic noises real bad ones, so i tried tapping via the resistor, the big 400 volt 100uf cap an bingo!! all seems to work!! 220 volts but will it be ok?? safe and not jepordise sound quality?? is there a better way guys?, cheers all the best! great forum ...rob!! ps can i use glue all the way arond the stators to glue them to the diaphragm brass ring or will i inter fer with the charge?? im trying to use 1 um mylar and it would break the patience of a saint!! cheers!!
