Is possible , through an adapter jack, to connect the Stax Sr-40 to the Musical Fidelity XCAN-V3 and to listen to it in satisfactory way? Where to find such adapter?

Not 100% sure, but think the Stax SRD-X can be used to drive the SR-40.
It is a transformer unit for hooking up to a regular headphone jack, then into an electrostatic headphone. Afaik the SR-40 only have a 4-pin plug and hence ignore the bias supply of the transformer.

That may be the only suitable unit, as other transformers are meant for hooking up to speaker amplifiers.

^ Which headphone amplifier did you use to feed the SRD-X?
I find it strange that it did not put out much sound volume, as it is designed to be fed by a headphone amplifier...

But the, I have never tried one.
