Hello,

I have a Woo GES with upgraded tubes (no upgraded parts) that I use with a pair of SR-507's. I like the combination but would like a little more detail and a fuller sound still staying with Stax and Woo.

I have heard that the SR-009's are pretty much the best-sounding headphones you can get and I have always imagined getting a pair to use with a Woo WES. The 3ES is much more amp than I need.

Of course, money is always an issue and you can't have everything, but I'm considering three different path to reach my final headphone solution:
  1. Get the SR-009's to use with the GES (if that will work) and, if possible, upgrade later to the WES.
  2. Get the WES to use with the SR-507's and, if possible, upgrade later to the SR-009's.
  3. Just keep the GES forever but swap the SR-507's for the SR-L700's, which use the same stators and silver-plated cable as the SR-009's, but are supposed to be easier to drive.
Does anyone have any experience with the SR-009's and GES or any suggestions?

Thanks very much.

A late reply, but if it was me I would go with option 3, then save up for the 3ES and Sr-009's, if possible.
