I never thought i would find myself even considering buying the 009, BUT, They made a big enough impression on me, particularly with the Cavalli Liquid LIghtning to actually buy one.

A pair of 009s should be arriving sometime late next week for my enjoyment and sincere consideration.

I will also have my O2mk1 to compare against it more thoroughly than the brief comparison session i had with them on the LL back in February.

Needless to say, am excited!

Congrats!  Also, let me just say that I knew you'd fold eventually.

You have every reason to be excited.  It's an exciting time in general.  You will not be disappointed.

Congrats Sachun, on the 009. I am also waiting for the BHSE to arrive and would compare with my SRM727II. My LCD3 and LF are collecting a bit of dust since I upgraded my speakers rig, as I only use headphones at home now when I use my MacBook Pro in my study, and that headphone happens to be the SR009.

Really, what do you guys hear about the differences between SR007 MK1 and MK2?  What sonic differences do you hear that make MK1 better than MK2?

I actually like MK2 better than MK1.  For one thing, the MK2 doesn't fart like MK1 does.

There are really four versions of the SR-007:

Mk1 with early serial number (70xxx)
Mk1 with late serial number and SZ1
Mk2 with SZ2 serial number
Mk2 with SZ3 serial number

These are all major changes to the design as parts from one will not fit others etc.  My go-to Mk1 has a late Mk1 frame, early Mk1 drivers and Mk2 earpads.

I just wanted the older generation SR-007 when i was shopping around for one.

in any case, 70752 on mine. Sounds no different from any of the other O2mk1s i have heard nor do i care. I like what i hear on mine and that's good enough for me

My first SR-007 Mk 1 will be arriving later this week.  It's serial number is:
SZ1-1189 - any idea where this is on the chain?
