Obviously Stax didn't think they were better than the O2. I think we are dealing with a rarity issue here. For a different perspective on headphone sound, I would say go for the Sigma pro.

Well, some prefer one and some prefer the other, but they're in the same class. It just so happens that the O1s, like the HE90 and HP-2, is rare.

Rare, out of production, very highly rated here at Head-Fi, not very durable, not repairable, and Stax altogether equal one ridiculously expensive headphone.

Looks like Headphile is taking a shot at them...Maybe we should all hold off and see if some Omega/woody comes out of this...of course that will just drive the price up even more if it shows up on his headphone deals page.
