So, I just bought the Stax SR-Lambda + SRD7-SB combo from the FS section..looking for the best bang for my buck speaker amp to power them. I dont want to spend too much right now..under 200 bucks if possible, with the holidays and all..just want to be able to enjoy them now..and upgrade down the road. Thanks.

Any amp is a fine choice. It won't make a dramatic difference. I tried powering them with a Yamaha receiver, an Onkyo receiver, a vintage Marantz, and the Nuforce Icon. They don't differ all THAT much from each other to my ears.

I have heard that the sonic impact T-AmP does a great job and for pretty cheap too.

Anything from about 6 watts RMS on up.

If you get just a power amp, you can use probably any headphone amp you like as the preamp. Lately I'm using a massive overkill Kenwood KM105 100wpc rms power amp driven by my Bijou all-tube futterman headphone amp. I've also had good luck with a 20w Rotel integrated amp, and a 50w Akai power amp with various preamps.

I got a Pop Pulse. The model I have is 25 watts per at 8 ohm. The new one is more powerful. Mine does a fantastic job with my Lambda + SRD-7. It is a more powerful version of the T-amp. Not a lightweight. Mine is pretty heavy and has a digital volume control. Very clean sound. It is a bit laid back but that seems to just expand the sound stage. Using them for gaming, I get tricked a lot by environmental effects. I actually look out the window sometimes to see if the wind has kicked up like I just heard lol.

Pop Pulse T70i T-Amp 1 NEW VERSION
