Sent him a PM. Glad to know he's "one of us"!! Wonder if he'll give a discount to a poor, poverty stricken head-fier?

Ummm....

Perhaps you should do more research on such an expensive headphone before you commit to a purchase?

"is it better than a HE60" makes it sound like you've never heard of the OII. I've been following all the OII threads for nearly a year and half and still haven't convinced myself to buy one...yet

you shouldnt need Galvos unless you want to make the laser beam move,.,,,but you can still use it as a solid one beam without movement!

If these were bought through PJ do they carry a longer warranty with Stax Japan?

If you buy them from Japan, you'll have one-year warranty with Stax Japan. One thing to keep in mind is that if something goes wrong with them, Stax USA won't touch them. I bought my pair from PriceJapan, but I speak Japanese and have relatives in Japan, so should I need to send them back, it wouldn't be all that difficult for me.

Yeah I knew that Stax USA won't service Japanese Stax products, just wasn't sure about warranty length. A little disapointing with a flagship product. But from all my electronics experience if somethings to break it usually happens in that first year.

I saw the word "Omega" and was in panic mode. Then I saw that they were Omega IIs, and you could pretty much hear the air deflate out of me...

The OIIs are great headphones, but they're a bit of a challenge to get the most out of.

I went through pretty much the same thing. I'm glad I wasn't the only one.
