Hi all

Ive just listened to the 3050 (classic) Stax outfit, and really liked it, loved the 'air' and light but accurate bass, the fact that I had the phones on for an hour and never knew it.
Im going for a listen of the 2050 in a week or 2, but can anyone tell me the main differences with the 2050 and 3050? Is there a mayor difference in the 202 and 303 headsets (I hear the 303 are 95% identical to the 404) and is the 252 energiser the same insides as the 323 apart from the built-in transformer and fancy box?
Any help would be great.

The SR-Lambdas are very easy to drive and tolerate the smaller solid state amps well, and they all sound pretty much the same. I don't know about the SRM-323, but the 313 caught holy hell around here for sucking big time. I've got a a 2020 basic setup (predecessor to the 2050), and I consider it about as good as any SR-Lambda/Amp combo I've heard. (It sounds 90 per cent as good as it does through the SRM-007tII.)

Actually, if it were me, I'd probably get the 2050s and hold out the big bucks for something that will payoff with a big difference in sound, like the OIIs.
