Hello

I am having difficulty getting my Starting Point Solutions DAC3 to work under Linux Mint 17.3 (it works okay under Windows 10). I was wondering if anybody had any success in getting to work with Linux or if anybody has any suggestions.

Prior to this DAC I was using an Audiolab MDAC successfully with ALSA - I have PulseAudio disabled on my system. Additionally, I tested the new DAC on a live version of Lubuntu 16.04 and with a live version of Knoppix - in both cases it also failed to work. I tested it under Windows 10 and it works fine there.

If I try to use aplay to play a wav I receive the following error:

aplay -D default test.wav
Playing WAVE 'test.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Stereo
aplay: pcm_write:1939: write error: No such device

syslog shows the following:
