Been lurking around here for some while now and my fingers are itching for a home rig. I'll be gooing for the beyer 990 or 880 (trying them out in a store near me) but now im lost in the ap/dac jungle.
At the moment i'm looking at the fubar II + cute beyond combo, but i've also layed my eyes on dacs as number cruncher or aliendac.
Can i find any good amp / dac combo for around $350 or any suggestions for amp at $200. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm also looking at the corda move but portability isnt a prioroty.

if your'e looking at the fubar + cute combo look @ fubar III, supposed to be the same thing but all in one box. Then tell me if its any good, because I'm curious about it.

the fubarIII is only $210 or so and with the upgraded PS, you would be under $350.

if you wanted to go with the "tried and true" from firestone, you could get the cute encore and the fubarII which are separates.

like the previous poster, i'm also curious about the fubarIII -- it seems like quite a deal.

The Entech 205 DAC is still available at a good price. Look at the thread on this site.

I'm in the same boat as b1uemchen. I'm looking at the fubar III as well and the emu 0404 too. I'll be using USB out from my laptop.

That zhaolu dac posted looks interesting as well. I can always get a TBAAM to get optical out of a USB port.
