standard cmoy or apheared amp with the ety er4-P/S

I have a pair of ety ER4-P's and am maybe going to buy a P to S conversion cable and a cmoy type amp for use with an ipod. Which would be better for use with these headphones? the standard cmoy design or the apheared design used mainly with grados?
