I'm buying a pair of headphonesand I need some help. I need phones that would work well on a PCDP as well as HIFI. I'm from Slovenia and both mentioned phones cost the same here. This is also my buget so please don't recomend higher models or other brands because it would be dificult for me to get them. I tried hd515 and hd555 and found hd555 much better. I haven't tried grados jet but what worries me is the comfort, because i'll be wearing them for longer periods of time. Then there is durability. Senn is all plastic. Did any of you guys (or girls) have problems with this? And the last thing: sensibility. I probably wouldn't have any problems with PCDP and grados. What about Senns. I tested them with normal (not portable) Cd player, the dealer didn't have a portable one at hand. After testing I also read a post on this forum about changed specs of hd555. I didn't pay that much attention regarding this when i tested them so i don't know which were they. So can you achieve reasonable loudness with hd555 (50 or 120 or whatever ohms) and PCDP?

I'm currently favouring Senns because i really like the comfort (my ears are sensitive

). I they would work well with a PCDP i will take them, otherwise grados.

Grados are also plastic and the build quality is purely functional. Whatever is important is strong - everything else is "expendable"

I tried HD-595 with a DAP and is worked pretty well without having to go WazoO on the volume. You will not have a problem using it with a portable but as always...this is HeadFi and we recommend an amp

If you like HD-555 comfort - take it...Grados will make you cry. For me - comfort with a grado is not an issue...initially it was quite bad but now I am used to it and the physical torture is worth the aural pleasure
