Before I begin buying the final components of my home set up later this year, I was thinking about picking up another pair of headphones. Would SR325i's do good to complement my HD650s? I listen to quite a bit of Indie and Alternative when I'm not listening to other stuff.

There are three or four(or more!)current active members that have both HD650 and SR-325i and are pleased with the way they play well together, but I'll let the answer for themselves.

Speaking just for me though, I couldn't be happier with the way my HD600 and MS2i complement each other.

Personally, I think Grados are a good complement to the HD650s. I just wish they were more comfortable...I can't get used to the cushions pressing against my ear on the Grados after I got used to how comfy the HD650s are.

I've got the heavier MS2i with the bowls, and I have found that after about nine months the pads are settling in enough that I find my MS2i to be just as comfortable as my HD600.

I started with the lighter MS-1 with the stock comfy pads but quickly went to reversed and modded 414s. When the MS2i arrived with the bowls the bowls were in fact a bit less comfortable than the 414s. Uh; quite a bit less comfortable. But after a couple months they got progressivly better until now about nine and a half months later the bowls are actually more comfortable than the MS-1.

It just takes time and patience.

....and maybe cast iron ears. It's true, not everyone can handle the Grados.

I don't have the 325i, but I have spent a lot of time with it in stores- and I thikn that the 325i would make an excellent can to compliment your 650s.

I have the same feelings, this is why I'm trying C-pads for my 325i. I hope to have them by this Friday.

Actually; by nine months the MS2i with bowls had softened up and settled in enough to become "as comfortable as " my HD600!

The thing that was funny about it was that even though I was used to the Grado feel by having my MS-1 with reversed 414s for about six months, within two weeks of the getting the MS2i I went and did a fourteen hour listening marathon!

But right now it doesn't matter whether I slap on the MS2i or the HD600, I can pretty much wear either set for as long as I feel like listening!
