I was just wondering if I could get a poll going on which you would choose?
The sr225 or the ms2i. It is probably a no brainer. I am just worried about the weight of the ms2i and how uncomfortable it might be.

The SR225 and MS2i would be the 2 cans ive kept for the longest time. They are, to me, the best of the product lineups at Grado and Alessandro (in respect to diminishing returns). But i would definatly agree that the MS2i is superior to the SR225 in all regards.

the ms2 are not uncomfortable at all, especially because you are used to having bowl pads

took me almost a week to figure out a good head positioning and that that regular, not reverse bowls are more comfortable for me.

but the bowls might be overthrown by some hd414 pads, currently in the mail

Though I've never used a SR225, I do own an MS2i. I have no point of reference in regards to SQ, but I can say that the headphones are not uncomfortably heavy. I much prefer their looks as well, the aluminum cups are stunning.

I have both (Headphiled Maple) SR225 and MS2i. Both are super cans. I never heard a stock SR225 for long audition. Generally MS2i has superior sound...but for me, the weight was an issue until I changed the MS2i's stock head-band with Headphiled 1" SR225's lamp skin head-band. The wider head-band distributes the weight more evenly on my head making it more comfortable for long hours of listening. Most likely I will end up selling the MS2i, since I have too many cans and I like to keep it all "wood" in my Grado collection.

My MS2i came stock with the RS1 style head band, but I still feel the SR225 is more comfortable. I can't tilt my head back to take a drink without the MS2i moving due to its weight. It doesn't cause discomfort, it's just harder to get it to stay put.

Sound wise with the bowls on both I found the MS2i to be a lot better than the SR225. It sounds a fair bit more refined and airy. Switching to the 414 pads on the SR225 closed the gap somewhat. I now use the MS2i for everything other than rock and crank up the volume with the SR225 when I'm listening to electric and other distorted stuff.
