worth it? or should i wait til i upgrade before paying for a costly custom upgrade. the SR-60's are new too, just bought them yesterday, but they're a lil uncomfortable so i was wondering if the C-pads were worth it. thnx for any opinions or feedback.

It'd be hard to recommend a mod that cost twice the price of the headphone. I'd say don't even think about c-pads until your headphone is worth at least the cost of the pads.

but the C-pad can be used up to SR325 i think, so if you like their sound signature why dont go for it?
and theres also a cheap solution to it

Cheapo C-Pads solution

or buy a flat pads for $30. That is more comfortable than the bowls or Hd414

Oh i dunno. I think the H414s are more comfy than the flats. but both are better than the bowls for comfort and comfies for sound.

well i can't argue with that, hehe. if it makes you feel any better, i have old yeller ones on my GS1000! some folks dye them black, but if it aint done right they will bleed ink all over your head and cans - not a good idea.

i swear i've seen them in black as well, but don't quote me on that. let me have a look around first.

Actually, if you get the RS version you can use it on any Grado... That's what I went for on my 225s.

why are C-Pads so much $? $119 for SR v7's...they're just Beyer 770 pads

For me they were definitely worth it. YMMV of course.

As far as cost, it's been discussed ad nauseam before, the Beyer pads aren't cheap and IMO Larry does an impeccable job. FWIW It's cheaper than most aftermarket replacement cables, IME has a bigger overall impact and is easily reversible.
