Well, in a long list of things I can't do, I'll put at the bottom of that "fixing the buzzing sound in Grado headphones".
It has having the famous buzz causes by a wrinkle in the diaphram. ya, so I took them apart following the Grado Mod Guide...however in removing the driver assembly from inside, I snapped the transducer wire. So, I had to remove the diaphram, uncoil a wire, then run it back. Considering how shoddy it looks, and the fact that I used elmer's glue-all, I reattached the diaphram rather well, run the wire back to the terminals...didn't know which one it went on, so I tried one, then the other, neither worked, I think the left earpiece bit the dust.
Why couldn't I leave well enough alone? It sounded fine 90% of the time, and just a SLIGHT inbalance in sound thats almost inpercievable. Now the balance is quite obvious, given that one side does not work at all. This sucks. Guess I'll be using Senn HD495s from now on. cest la vie.
