Hi everyone, I know that the quality of streaming on Spotify has been a topic of debate. I’ve been a Spotify user for years, I love its functions and I’ve discovered some of my favourite artists through it. As for the quality, sometimes it can leave something to be desired but I would like to be able to use the app on high quality devices, as that also makes a difference and it would be convenient. I’ve posted a suggestion on their website to develop an app in cooperation with A&K as I also love their devices. Please give me a vote on the link below, if only to put this on the map.

I personally dont think this is an area of concern for AK.

The majority of users who buy an AK player most likely do not use Spotify or have any desire to (just a broad assumption).

AK should focus on other things like fixing their EQ for a start.

I use 16/44 CD rip or downloaded 24/x files.  No desire for anything else.  Everyone's milage may vary.  For a device that costs $1600+, I want the best sound I can get.

I don't see this happening as other than Tidal, most of the players in the game such as Spotify, Apple Music and Google Play really do not want to work with the third parties.  I inquired with Roon, why only the Tidal integration into their system and my understanding of their response was others would not work / release the necessary information.  Basically you need a DAP that is Android base that let's you load whatever software.  Echobox's Explorer is a good example.  It is Android base.  They have worked with US Audio Pro to integrate with Tidal but if you can load Spotify, it would be the way to go.

I disagree.  Having Spotify integration will just expand their outreach to other music lovers (i.e., increase sales) and increase the usefulness of my AK120ii (increasing the chance of me buying another AK DAP).  I, for one, do not use tidal but use Spotify every day via my phone/Mojo.  I would love to use a one-piece item solution and listen to Spotify via my AK 120ii.

As for EQ, don't have a need for it.  Sound quality is already pretty awesome and the law of diminishing returns says that my AK120ii sound quality isn't too shabby compared to the AK380.

I second that. I use Spotify on my phone to find music I like and casually listen. When I find something I really like, I purchase the music, and load it onto my AK240. Even having Spotify included in the AK Connect app would be a great way to do this.

If AK does come out with Spotify, we can only hope it is not a castrated version without offline support. For me, the absence of offline support completely relegates the utility of the app.

Absolutely agree - I subscribe to Spotify just to try new music out and decide if I want it long term. I'd rather all my music stuff be focused on my DAP (Kann from last week) than have to find my phone for (in this case) Spotify!
