How far must the speakers be from a computer??? I don't have much place on my desk, and I can only place them something like 12 inches away max.

Is there a risk? Should I move my computer somewhere else, like on the ground or something?

The monitor is likely to cause more trouble than the computer itself. Even then, with shielded speakers it shouldn't be a problem.

Speakers aren't shielded. Monitor is 4-5 inches away.

Might not be a bad idea at all to move my comp, amp and printer away from my desk, this will leave me more place to study.

test it man !

set your monitor for a blue screen and put the speakers right up to the monitor.you should see a nasty green/yellow/orange distortion at the edges of the screen.
Back the speakers away until this discoloration goes away then add another six inches to that for those times when you swivel the monitor.
Periodically check the results with the "blue screen" for any shifts and take action or not accordingly.

Can be done but failure to do it right could mean permanant damage to the monitor screen.Sometimes demagnetising it will cure the damage ,other times not.
