Kinda similar to K1000, but instead with high-excursion drivers.

I don't know what the SQ would be like, but it'd be more for people that like a lot of low end in their music (read: bassheads).

With a 3.1mm xmax and 10mm xlim, it seems you could get a good bit of bass without distortion.

With equalization and all that, would a pair like that be good for hip-hop and such?

errrrr... you might want to look in the othro thread and make what they have been doing - for around $30 a really nice sounding headphone.

And besides, would the content <20hz be able to put a good amount of pressure on the ears?
