Here's the thing, I need to know if I need to buy anything else to make things sound good. It's going to be a 2.1 setup. The subwoofer has speaker outputs which I plan to use. The maximum output on the speakers is 120 watts, and the maximum power output of the sub's amplifier is 150 watts. So, is it bad that the sub is sharing its power with the speaker? Will It sound bad? Could a receiver fix the problem?

-Thanks for your help

Specs-

Dayton sub-120-150 watts

Sony SS-B1000 bookshelf speakers-120 watts

Well, it's build onto the subwoofer, so I guess it is, it's 150 watts total, impedance: 8 ohms, frequency 25-180 Hz

150 watt amp *Low pass filter: 40~180 Hz, 12 dB/octave *Frequency response: 25-180 Hz *Exterior dimensions: 14-3/4" W x 17-5/8" H x 18" D.

If I understand your question correctly, you will need a stereo amplifier for the speakers. The speaker in/out in powered subwoofers is just for the signal (it takes the signal from the speaker input, the speaker out is just for convenience to connect the speakers.) The subfoower amplifier is not shared with the speakers at all, besides it is just a mono amp.

Depends what "receiver" exactly means, but at least a plain vanilla stereo amplifier.
