speaker setup suggestion

Current setup:
Used in living room
computer as source
silverstone eb01 usb dac
cheap old denon amp
Dayton diy br-1 bookshelves

I am looking to spend about 200 on some audio upgrade

Want it to be a little louder also some bass

maybe a diy sub for around 100, also is there some modifications I can make to my br-1's to make them louder like buy a better tweeter or 6.5" woofer, or should I just sell those and get a pair that has 2 woofers and a tweeter with a sub, or get another set of bookshelves and a sub. I will likely get a better amp used and old off craigslist

I am for sure open to DIY projects, actually preffered
