Is there a decent & reputable online source selling (new & used) MFSL CDs? I've never heard one of these CDs and would like to buy one to see if I can "hear the difference", and I'd rather avoid eBay. I've been to Steve Hoffman's Audio Fidelity site, but the selection is rather limited...

As I know it Audio Fidelity is separate entity, but Steve does most and possibly all their mastering. Steve does much more work and this web site will show labels and cds he has mastered. Many of which are very rare and very expensive.

Here is link to all labels and cds of SH

Mo-Fi although very good to my ears aren't as good as Steves work. Many Mofis, if that is your reference are sold on what I consider a very reputable site (which you probably already know). Good luck.

If you have a specific title in mind check Amazon associate sellers. Their price is ususally less and shipping is half of what MFSL site charges.

Try this for starters.........
Amazon.com: MFSL: Music

I would like to note that in the rare (ahem, I had two already) cases of MFSL getting a batch of faulty/edgy discs out the door, those discs are likely to end up at those sellers and NOT be affected by a recall. Check for decent return policies.

Are you suggesting MFSL knowingly sells faulty merchandise to a another retailer? I find that very hard to believe. Distributing bad CD's and then reneging on the warranty would destroy their reputation.

No, of course not. I'm suggesting there might be retailers that do not replace their stock, or maybe buy up "cheap" stock from others that might be cheap for one reason or another.
I can state this since I bought "Prisoner in Disguise" from one Amazon marketplace retailer and they were both (the first and the replacement) from the lower serial number range that MFSL had recalled according to their answer to my inquiry. They also told me to report if the sellers would not replace discs, so they do care. The problem in this case was that the seller did replace it presto, but it came from the same faulty batch. (to elaborate, the disc would not read in any Mac in the house, so I could only use it in stationary players; I ended up finding a friend with a drive that would read it)
