Hi guys :)

A "friend" of mine managed to lose my Soundmagic PL50s which I really enjoyed.

I'm looking for a replacement, does anyone have any suggestions?

I'd be willing to spend up to $150

Thank you for your time!

Bummer about your earphones. Do you like the SoundMAGIC house sound? If so, maybe go with the E10C or E50 (I find the E80 a tad brightish). If not, maybe check out the 1More Triple Driver or the RHA MA750--both of those are terrific and in your price range. .

Hi @serman005

Thanks for your suggestions!

I only ever had one pair of soundmagic so I am not sure if it's the house sound I enjoyed.

But they were BA IEMs and I believe they were said to be mid-forward and I really enjoyed that sound signature.

I have actually been looking at the triple driver, but I see some reviewers say the mids are a bit recessed and that they have a V shape sound. What are your thoughts on that?

Thanks!

I don't agree with the v-shaped thing, overall, personally. They have a smooth sound, I would say, overall. And I would not say the mids are markedly recessed. They are somewhat bass-centric, which could lead someone I suppose to say the mids are a bit recessed, but I don't really hear that and the freq response curve is fairly flat across much of the mids. There is a dip at around 5.5kHz and then a smaller one at around 11.5 kHz, but that is about it, tbh.. Everyone's ears are different, though, and YMMV, of course. You may find the mids a bit recessed, everyone is different.
