Anyone tried both and which would be better for jazz, blues in terms of sound quality, comfort etc. Any info would be appreciated ..

You will love the PL50 - it has a more lush sound and is excellent with female jazz vocals...

To me, even though the PL50's mids are slightly better than the RE0, the RE0 unquestionably kicks the PL50's ass in every genre of music. Mids aside, the RE0 is much better in every other aspect. And that's not to say the mids on the RE0 is shabby... it's not at all.

From what I have read, the RE0 is the one of the best deals out there for the price. Mine are on their way to me right now.

Tough call but I'd probably take the RE0 for its versatility. I'll admit that the PL50 is stellar for Jazz but it's just not on the same level overall.

Well, I have both. And I love them.
If I had to choose one, I would pick Soundmagic PL50. Why? Cheaper, comfortable. And the sound just fells right. RE0 sounds more refined, let's say, but also more neutral. Soundmagic sounds "fun" to listen to. I keep coming back to them, and they are my portable choice right now.
My advice? Buy both - they are great and worth every cent.

Hard to choose, personally I would take the RE0, but for jazz and comfort and price the PL50 are hard to beat. They are tiny and comfy and they're smooth.

Thanks everyone for their input. I picked up the RE-Os first but am gonna order the PL50s today..Oh and I think the RE-O s are just fantastic. ...

Hope I like the PL50's as much. Thx again for your recommendations!! The details on this are amazing and the bass is more than adequate for my tastes..
