I have the PL30 and like them alot. The bass is just right to me (with sony's clear bass on 1 that is). I'm interested in the PL50s.

Which one of the two has the deeper stronger bass?

What about when the PL30's switch is on deep bass instead of clear bass?

IME the PL30s sound better on clear bass, deep bass muddies the sound. I'd say the PL50 are roughly the same in bass extension and impact but have better definition.

Do the PL50s have equal bass (quantity wise) as the PL30 on 'deep bass' or 'clear bass'?

On 'clear bass'. TBO I haven't used 'deep bass' in a long time.

PL30 is a much enjoyable phones, PL50 is kinda overrated.

To me PL50 got stronger bass. In that they sound much fuller compare to PL30.
I don't hear a noticeable change to sound at all when changing the position of the bass knob on PL30 but other members seem to like the clear setting most. Changing tips usually making bigger difference.
In any case I find PL50 go deeper. You will hear a notable upgrade here with more quantity but nothing that goes heavy.

Not much difference to my ears either.

To me the PL50 has a bit more low-end extension and, with the right tips (Sony Hybrids for me) a little more bass definition and qty. as well.
