I am listening to it now. It is amazing how great this IEM sounds for just $12. It doesn't have the most bass impact or the greatest detail of the IEMs I own, however it sounds very musical and is very pleasant to listen to. It is said to sound very much like the Soundmagic E10.

not enough bass??????   to me it's unbelievable how deep it goes without any distortion.  The treble needs a bit of a boost though.  The mids are great.  For the price is hard to beat.

I wish the Sony M1C would have a acceptable cable. It had the potential to be the star of all IEM<30$. With a cable like this I can't recommend it over a Soundmagic phone though since you literally are handicapped by it.

I didn't say the ES18 is bass deficient, only that some of the IEMs I have which have larger drivers than the ES18 (the ES18 drivers are only 10mm) seem to have more force behind the bass. With quite a bit of wear now, my ES18 seems to be delivering more bass impact than it did in the past. The ES18 is my favorite IEM, even though I have other IEMs that cost much more. Bass isn't everything though, even for rock music.

Great gems these are! I think sonically these are very similar to JVC-s400,i'd say the bass is even tighter than s400.

Compared to the MH1 these do have a more in your face mids but i like it opposed to the slightly recessed mids of the mh1.Treble of the es18s although are not as extended or smooth as the mh1,but has more sparkle to it and doesn't have any nasty spikes in treble either.Bass is where i find these clearly better than mh1,The weird thing is that although es18s has more mid bass & sub bass than the mh1,it seems more tighter overall.Has more mid-bass rumble & rounded bass impact.I like it!

ES18s has a wider soundstage, even more height i must say.But Mh1 has more depth and is more 3Dish than the es18.

One thing i have to point out is that I listen straight out of my (voodoo modded) Galaxy S.No amps involved, which people here say that using one improve sq of the MH1.

Also es18s are so easy to drive! You can drive these to sufficient volume,no matter how weak your source might be. :D

I don't think the ES18 is treble deficient. In fact when I use an IEM with much greater treble, the JVC HAFX40, the treble actually hurts my ears when playing some songs. Some of my IEMs such as the Sony MDREX210 which has 13.5mm drivers, and the Panasonic RPHJE450 with 12.5mm drivers seem to have much more power behind the bass, although their midranges and treble seem lower in quality than that of of the ES18. I would love to see an IEM similar to the ES18 but with 13.5mm drivers. I did notice the Soundmagic ES20, although it didn't get such good reviews. Some were complaining about the build quality of the ES20.
