Hello,
 
I recently got a Sennheiser Game Zero, and I'm thinking about getting a decent sound card. The problem is that I'm a complete noob when it comes to audio, and I'd like to get a sound card that fits my desires.
 
Well, what do I want from my sound card? I am what many would consider a gamer. I mainly play CS GO where sound is an important part of the game, so I'd like something that helps with 3D sound. But I also feel like the headphones are lacking bass, so I'd also want something to fix this.
 
Does anyone have any suggestions or useful tips when it comes to finding something to fit my "needs"?

The Game zero light bass is not something that can really be changed much, might get a little more bass using an EQ.
Anything drastic enough to give the Game zero a much bigger bass is more likely to give it a bloated (louder, less detailed) bass.
As your FPS gaming, might as well get the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z sound card ($80), It comes with SBX headphone surround sound
It's headphone amplifier can easily drive the 50-Ohm Game Zero headphones.
Also because it's headphone output jack has a 22-ohm impedance, it should on it's own give the Game Zero a little bit louder bass.
 
Remember to disable the motherboard's on-board audio, in the BIOS, before installing an internal add-on sound card, to your PC.
 
There is also the FiiO E10K ($76) or Schiit Fulla ($79), both are USB/DAC/amps, easy to install, but come with zero headphone surround sound features.

Not 100% necessary since you can disable your on-board sound in the operating system, but doing this will help avoid all/most troubleshooting and conflicts one might encounter in the vast almost infinite possibilities of hardware combinations.
