Soundcard, DAC, amp - how to connect them?

I'm having a bit of trouble trying to figure out what interconnects I need for my new toys.

I bought a go-vibe and just placed an order for the Headroom Micro DAC and now I need to know what interconnects to buy. But since the Micro DACs estimated delivery time is 2 to 4 weeks I have plenty of time to buy them.

To connect the DAC and go-vibe would I need an RCA to mini cable? And if I used the optical out instead of the USB I'd need a toslink cable from my AV710 to the DAC, right? But if I used the USB interface would I need any other ICs? I'm a total n00b so bare with me.

Could someone post like a "Chaintech AV710-MicroDAC-Go-vibe setup for dummies" for me?

To connect Micro DAC to Go-Vibe, you'd need a mini-to-mini cable.

If you're using an optical out, you'd need either an Toslink-to-mini optical cable or Toslink-to-Toslink cable w/ mini optical jack adaptor to connect from AV-710 to Micro DAC.

If you're using USB, then you'd need a USB-to-mini USB cable since the USB input on Micro DAC is USB mini.

I've been reading about the optical out vs. USB and wondered which option would be better. And would any old USB cable do the trick? It's just such a nightmare to buy these ICs that I might even prefer to use the USB even if it's not the best option.
