Ⅰ The core for high fidelity audio streaming playback 
 
With the technology of DAC and Analog AMP becoming mature , digital output quality has become the key focus in many HIFI manufactures researching high fidelity digital streaming playback. Testing IIS and spdif could judge the digital output quality. From the recognized industry's top digital audio analyzer, digital output quality is mainly influenced by two aspects: clock short-time stability and low frequency noise level. When output frequency accuracy within the normal standard level, although long time drift won’t largely affect short sound quality, but clock short-time stability and low frequency noise level could make enormous decisive effect on decoder, no matter on details, sound-stage, imagination or resolution.
Following with the technology developing, digital input de-noise & de-jitter processing receives more and more attention on developing new DA chip. ESS9018’s internal DPLL improve external jitter effect, but after assembled into SOUNDAWARE® products, the FPGA playback architecture & algorithm decoding digital audio alone, without requiring DPLL, could reach to higher HI-FI performance on the contrary. Moreover, after three years of optimization, added our own unique audio processing algorithm, FPGA architecture has achieved astonishing performance on digital audio playback performance.
 
Ⅱ Points on other audio processing architecture 
 
  1. Pure CPU processing mode
Has strong functions, supports various formats. But the following questions exist: ⑴Inside ARM, itself integrates PLL, it has astonishing gap with external crystal oscillator. No matter how good quality the external input-clock has, PLL quality is the key constrain(bottle-neck). ⑵ Except for core power supply, other power processing module in ARM use the same integrated circuit alone, resulting in the difficulty for EMI and signal/noise ratio level reaching high level. (3)the decoding process isn’t an hardware, so stability will be influenced by other CPU tasks.
  1. Other dual clock play modes
Use CPLD or special chip, choosing one of dual-clock frequency as the clock source to drive CPU outputting IIS signal. The fundamental is still the CPU decoding,. although the clock precision is improved, but the bad IIS phase noise output from CPU is still unresolved, make the sound quality not nature enough .

1. Has all advantage of pure CPU processing streaming players and all interfaces, supporting mobile phone, iPad controlling, external storage (hard disk, USB, SD card, etc).
 
2. Use separate audio processing AudioDSP (FPGA, ASIC) hardware decoding module. Power and CPU is isolated, supporting 8 groups (over 20 circuits) precise power input, reaching for excellent signal/noise ratio and THD+N level. CPU and Audio DSP is connecting with each other real-timely, the delay is lower to be 1us, the processing performance could reach to 300 Mbit per second, completely satisfy the severe audio processing request, supporting any bit rate (far more than 32bit, 384khz), without any disconnection or error code in any circumstance.
 
3. The audio DSP use the FIFO ultra-high speed asynchronous buffer technology, (ASRC) and real-time CPU ultra-high speed processing interface, isolating any jitter caused by external interfaces. So all interfaces have the same playback performance (sound quality) with same quality power.
 
4. Dual clock input, internal delay of audio DSP is lower to be 5ns, less than 1ps stability, based on original clock driving decoding, supply the most accurate, most stable decoding processing for 44.1khz X and 48khz X files separately.
 
5. Use the Spdif clock and data directly synthesized driving technology, avoid the jitter caused by the second processing of IIS converted to SPDIF.
 
6. Strong dual chip processing capability and all bottom details well mastered technology, perfectly supports normal music formats, excellent operating experience and many different interfaces.

But as a almost ignorant person, I just try to translate it as close as to the actual technology connotation.
