Hello guys, recently I've been noticing interruptions on the right channel whenever I move or tilt my head. I'm not sure the correct term to describe this specific "problem" but when I listen to something I can definitely notice sudden pauses on the right channel whenever I make any movements.

The problem is more noticeable when I use my fingers to fidget around the ring/cover. The sound cuts on the right channel as I push the ring to the edge (up or down). FYI, the parts I'm referring are marked in red:

I also tried testing with only right channel enabled which I can definitely hear the sound cutting off accompanied with crackling noises.

I'm guessing there's something wrong in the right side. I've tried the same test on the left side as well though there were no interruptions whatsoever.
Unfortunately, I bought this in early 2013 which the warranty is over for both the seller and the AKG. My only option is to contact my local AKG distributor (Australia) to see if they can fix this or not.

If possible I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to fix this problem before contacting the distributor.

There's something loose in there, either the solder on the cable going into the right channel or the driver mount. Better call AKG to get it fixed, there's really no other way to easily test what's wrong since you have a single-side entry cable (plus you already have this info about the sound getting affected by touching the earcup anyway, so there's really no need to swap left and right cables as we would with Sennheisers).

Thanks for the reply. Looks like there's nothing I can do at this stage. I'll contact the distributor and see how it goes...
