If your big on FPS gaming, then get the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z sound card.
otherwise get a USB-DAC-amp, like the FiiO E10K or Q1, or Schiit Fulla.

Thanks. In case of sound card, will Asus Xonar Essence STX (old one) be better than Sound Blaster Z? Or should I get the Sound Blaster Z?
Also, I heard that, ACM of Sound Blaster ZX degrades audio quality. Is this problem still persist?
I actually trying to be able to connect my headset from my desk (via ACM or some extension cable), since it came with a coiled cable, and it's a pain to connect it to the back side of pc casing.

I myself prefer Asus Xonar cards over Creative Cards.
I used a Essence STX for years :)
But I now use external head amps an DAC/head amps.

The SB-Zx's ACM degrading audio quality is something of an on going debate.
Might a more minor issue, also might depend on what headphones are being used with the ACM module.
If I was going to use a Sound Blaster card (Z or Zx), I would get the Z model and use an extension cable from the back of the SB-Z to the desktop.

I own the SB-Z card and the Essence STX, would much rather use the STX card.
Prefer the Xonar control panel and the STX has a better head amp and DAC and op-amps, then the SB-Z.

Thanks again. So, Essence STX with an extension cable will be better? OK, then I will get that. Thanks a bunch :)

When you install the Essence STX card.
Disable the motherboard's on-board audio, in the BIOS, before you install the STX.
Try these third party drivers, for the STX.
