I've just been notified I offended member(s) by my recent thread titled What's the Best Heterosexual or Homosexual CD Scratch Fixer. I was not trying to offend, or divide, and I apologize if I've done either. I don't take any of the recent threads on the referenced issues lightly (as those who've read the my posts know), but was trying to lighten the mood here and thought a joke (as unfunny as mine can sometimes be) was in order and maybe even show what we have in common. I misread that and I am sorry to those I've offended. Please know it was not intentional.

And yes, I was serious about the CD scratch problem (title was the only joke). Thank you for those who responded. I didn't get to read all the comments before it was deleted, but I appreciate those who took the time to respond.

PC gone a bit mad, perhaps. Still, as an international forum for those of us for whom English is not the first language (which I am one), nuances and expressions which may be important in context may be lost and there may be misunderstandings so perhaps it's best just to avoid any controversy and keep it on the straight and narrow...

That was a nice apology.
I saw the humor and caught the references in the title of your thread.

The answers to your plight also helped me, I have a scratched CD that won't play one song very well.
edit
I was thinking about this while looking somewhere else and realized that you said the original thread was deleted.

That is too bad, there were several people who posted that offered professional services. Maybe they will PM you.

I thought it was a riot! it seems lately that there are certain sacred cows who are not to be messed with on this forum. certain people are allowed to bash others for not being tolerant when they themselves are the intollerant ones, that's how it goes in the pc world we live in. if anyone was offended by your tounge in cheek thread they should get a life.

that thread was deleted? amazing...

hard for me to believe anyone would have found that one offensive. but i'm very good at inadvertantly pissing people off so i'm not really the best judge on any of this sensitivity stuff. i just thought it was a great summit for the straight and gay communities to come together and unite in the quest to heal the damaged cds we all hold in common.

eh, whatever. good luck with that cd.

pfff It got deleted !! I thought I was going crazy because I couldnt find that topic this morning.
I thought you had a legitimate question spiked with some humor, it's somewhat shocking it sounded offensive to some.

In any case, if you're still interested, I will repeat myself since I dont know if you read my reply.
Do NOT use a spin doctor ever, if you value your disc at all.
We have a resurfacing machine at the shop that will leave your disc flawless. Not that scratched finish AT ALL.
It will fix scratches but not gaps. If you hold your disc and can see light thru it it can NOt be repaired (missing data), but scratches is ok.
Cost: $5. ---- for you Blessingsx: free (cause of ur help earlier)
If you dont trust me with your CD I completely understand, no offense taken.
If you're interested I will email you our shop's page and more info on the machine we use. Ive fixed some pretty crazy stuff that I thought I'd lost forever, you wont be dissapointed.
PM me, Ill be on later tonight.
Gigi.

blessingx: I found it funny. Anyway, in case you weren't able to read my answer, I suggested to use a computer drive to rip and reburn the cd, as these seem to do better with damaged media in general. A hard-headed ripper with good error correction algorithm would be advisable - the one from cd paranoia for linux is still the best, as far as I know, and should be also available in exact audio copy (eac) and clonecd for windows.

Greetings from Munich!

Well, given the situation with a couple of other threads touching on the same topic, I have a feeling that the moderators probably didn't want to have anything that might get flames started again in sight. After the last couple of outbreaks of passion, I would have to agree with them on it...
