Never listened to Grados- yet...
But best of luck with the Z7.
Going home to get them for Saturday night on the yacht club upper deck. Nobody’s here and it a super night to hang out with the view, beer, and a nice cool breeze.
Enjoy yourself tonight

Yacht club upper deck? Now that is the way to live! Enjoy your evening.

You might like Hotel California fro the Hell Freezes Over album. The drums in the beginning sound very nice with the Z7.
Btw, being an old white German guy, not fat though, I enjoy Mr. Mathers works a lot. He walks on water, but only when it freezes....You might want to check that out some day, to me it is pure Rock'n Roll.
Good to know.

Enjoying OK GO with my Z7’s on the upper deck of the “yacht club”.
It is really nice. Not trying to be a snob or rub anything in, but I grew up in such a dangerous Philadelphia neighborhood that I really appreciate life and a night like this.
Thanks for your understanding!
Attached is a photo of why I’m satisfied with what I have, and what I want to play with other than can upgrades.
Sails...

These headphones are amazing!!!
I played all of my 2018 stuff:
Miles Davis/John Coltrane, Black Stone Cherry, Nubya Garcia, Stone Temple Pilots and some singles by The Arkells, The Beaches, Bishop Briggs, Florence & the Machine, Shinedown and Two Feet.

Guitars, vocals, drums all sound loud and clear. Everywhere that should have bass does. All the instruments, including vocals, have great separation. I have never heard a closed phone that sounded so open. Not sure if that is the definition of a large soundstage or not, but they sound GREAT.

These are the headphones that I have been looking for over the past three years.

I am done hunting. These and the Grado's are my end game headphones.

My A17 is long gone
Mine will be leaving soon also. Do you LOVE the NW-WM1A? Lots of power in balanced mode, I see. Wow, that is expensive! $1,500.00, plus tax in Canadian money. Of course that pales in comparison to the NW-WM1Z at 4K!:astonished:
I have been thinking about the ZX300 and the Fiio X7ii, but I have to do tons of reading.

Keep showing an interest in it in your posts and you'll soon receive some unsolicited pm's from guys wanting to sell you their used one, for not a bad price. I turned several such offers down because I wasn't 100% decided yet b/n the WM1A and ZX300 at the time, plus I have an opportunity to buy the WM1A brand new for about $960 USD (buying in Japan). Also with gadgets this expensive I just would prefer to get a new one even though its obviously more money, but not everyone feels the same about that.

I can't imagine paying big dollars on a used machine.
The ZX300 may not have enough power.
I like the idea of balanced out for the Z7's, but I guess it won't matter for the Grado's.

Lots of reading to do.
