Does anyone know where I can buy a new genuine kimber cable for my Z5?
Do you mean the sony branded kimber? Or an actual kimber cable from kimber kable?

If anyone has a chance to try the Z5 with the Hiby R8 II the combination is truly exceptional using balanced output. Really great synergy. Mids are brought forward and the bass pouches hard and sounds like a clean sub attached to each of your ears. Soundstage expands in every direction.

Z5 sound very good with pentaconn coreir brass. There is more detail retrieval unless dirty bass on a huge soundstage

I’ll bow out
All of my IEMs and full-size headphones are cabled with this cable.

The config is the same for iem and Ha;

AWG 20. Four stranded cryo silver 6N purity. Mmcx plugs are rhoium plated and source plug is also rhodium plated 4.4mm

In my opinion, nothing more large-scale and monumental in sound than Sony XBA-Z5 has not yet been invented. They are unique in their own way. But Sony XBA-Z5 need a pretty powerful source and they are very picky about tips. I use Unique Melody tips and a silver custom cable.

The z1r is superior, but the xba z5 was ahead of it's time.
