Wow , blon graph vs z5 looks good , I have both (*_*)

So how diferent are they

Blon is good. For $40 just get it. Is it as good as z5? No. That's dumb. But it's close and would be a good deal for $200. Less bass, less treble, more mid centric, but does sound really good for $40 or even $200. For me, it's good enough for now, so I'll be selling my z5, but mostly because I need the money because I'm getting divorced. Hit me up. 3 cables (4.4, 2.5, plus stock) tons of tips (spiral dot, spin fit, RHA, final E, Symbio) case. $300 shipped in US

You don't have a good seal. Blons have even more bass and low end than the Z5. Mids are relaxed.

They seem like they need a longer tip perhaps. I was using comply. Tried final E as well, which I liked but they don't stay in place

Interesting, IEMs have come on so well in terms of pricing.

@redrol , what tips do you rec then? If I push them in, they def get more bass. I am using comply medium and final e. Stock tips are crap. Seems like it needs a longer tip.

Can anyone tell how the xba z5 compare to the ex800st?

Z5 is much more liquid that ex800. Better treble extension, a bit smoother and more musical overall. It's an upgrade for sure.

On another note, all, my divorce sale continues. Price drop on my Z5 to $300. Includes tons of tips, case, and 3 after market cables--3.5,2.5, and 4.4. Includes shipping and fees. No I don't have thr stock cable or tips, but who cares since they are crap?

Also selling Beyer dynamic Lagoon Anc for $250 shipped. Great BT phones. Need that cash though.

The Blon are okay for now. I like Sony, so I will get the M7 or M9 in time, but for now, I have to pay for furniture and alimony, which is more my motivation for selling than upgrades or replacements at the moment.

Hmm, kind of curious what your source is where the BLON has more low end than Z5? I've been doing a lot of AB tests between the two, and coming straight out of the E1DA 9038S with no EQ, the Z5 has more bass quantity (though not a ton more), but the z5 extends much deeper, and bass quality is also better on the z5. Some lower quality tracks can give the BLON mid-bass some issues and it loses energy - but it's basically impossible to trip up the Z5 DD. Once you start EQ'ing it's game over for the BLON.

(And if you're curious, I use comply foam tips and never had an issue with getting a proper seal with the BLON - not actually sure what all the complaints are about that? Maybe I just have the right sized ears, or maybe just newbies in the scene that haven't spent the better part of decade tip rolling...)

Don't get me wrong, the BL-03 is really really great, at any price point, and it's dirt cheap price just makes it even more impressive.

But Z5 is easily still the king to me - and I think people should be revisiting it more right now - because if you look at their graphs, it would appear the BLON tuning has been taking some cues from Sony.
