Yes, I consider Lavricables to be one of the best bank for your buck cables, despite they are not so affordable, but they are definitely cheaper than the DHC
I have and love the Meze 109 Pro with LQI Cables 4.4 mm balanced cable and Lotoo Paw Gold Touch and Lotoo P6000. I love them, but am still curious about Sony MDR-Z1R.

Get the MDR-Z1R, add the DMP-Z1 currently offered in the Classifieds and you are d-o-n-e. (unless you are mad enough to also grab the MDR-R10 after falling in love (again) with Sony's engineering)
Thinking of getting a Z1R in the near future. May i ask if the degradation/cracking on the headband is inevitable or are there ways to keep it looking good over the years. Looks difficult to replace if it cracks/peels.
................. I forgot to add a splitter. When I spoke with Peter he said you can braid it yourself. When I did the sound changed significantly. The soundstage went from wide open and deep to compressed. Now I won't buy a cable with a splitter any more and had him remove the splitter when he converted my extra Clone Silver (was for when I used to commute for work) from MMCX to the Sony 3.5mm....................
Are you suggesting by removing the splitter that the cable is totally unbraided from the output connector on the amp to the headphones left and Right connectors. In other words there are two separate cables emanating from the amps output, one to the Left and a second to the Right headphone input?
See image below.

Correct, it eliminates any RF/EMF bleed between the channels.
The only upside of having a split is cable management. You only deal with one wire instead of two. I'll take the improved sound over dealing with two wires instead of one.

Having learned from personal experience in the past two years that Furutech connectors are of low quality with the coating being very thin and easily damaged (and further they have other engineering issues, with some of their expensive all-metal adapters even ruining connectors by being too tight), I am looking at AECO as an alternative for new cables or re-terminations. Does anyone have a more long term experience with them?
I can't say it does. The cable doesn't really change the ground signature. But it enhances it to the next level.. that's being said the base is refined those become more tight mid and high are also enchained. You have more detail without being harsh. Maybe the mid range takes a step forward but not so much and oh boy that sounds stage.

this time when I decide to get new cables, I decide to try rhodium plating because I read somewhere it is stronger as gold, plating, and rhodium it's more conductive than gold. I'm based on post on the. Lavricables thread it is better that you get rhodium plating. With silver wiring in order to extract the last drop of details.
